Deans of Faculties and Heads of Departments are required to appoint Health and Safety Coordinators to assist them in the management of health and safety within their areas of control.

The primary role of the Departmental Health and Safety Co-ordinator is to advise the Dean or Head on health and safety matters, and be particularly concerned with day to day health and safety matters within the Faculty or Department.
